GREGORY J. GAHM, M.D.
General Medical Director
Dr. Gahm is a geriatrician serving as the Corporate Medical Director for Vivage and medical director for several of Vivage’s skilled nursing facilities. He attended the University of Colorado for undergraduate studies and medical school, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine in Arizona, a Fellowship in Administrative Medicine and Medical Informatics at Harvard and a sabbatical in Clinical Preventive Medicine at Stanford. Dr. Gahm is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine for the University Colorado Health Sciences Center and is actively involved in the helping coordinate influenza recognition and treatment efforts in Colorado. He is President of the Colorado Medical Director’s Association, and frequent chairman of the CMDA Annual Educational Meeting. Dr. Gahm co-leads a geriatrics journal club and the Vivage Community Ethics Committee, conducts clinical research on influenza, appropriate UTI and Skin & Soft Tissue Infection diagnosis and treatment, and thyroid replacement. As part of the Rocky Mountain Hospice Consortium, he has recently written a document summarizing a collaborative effort on the appropriate use of medications for hospice patients. Dr. Gahm serves on a variety of community-based committees, including the CMS-mandated task force working to reduce the inappropriate use of antipsychotics in LTC.
