OPERATIONS RESOURCE TEAM

TRACY NICKELSON
Director of Financial Field Operations

Tracy brings over 21 years of healthcare financial experience to her role as Director of Financial Field Operations.  Beginning in acute care, Tracy transitioned to a skilled nursing facility Business Office Manager position.  Tracy’s passion for learning and growing capacity in others led her into consultative services with other business office managers at Piñon Management.  Since that time, her roles have included Financial Analyst, Corporate Controller and present role of Director of Financial Field Operations. Tracy provides corporate leadership for all Business Office functions, including Policy and Procedure development, training, and software conversions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Resident Trust and Payroll.  Under Tracy’s leadership, Vivage has a Medicaid audit error rate of .1% which includes several successful appeals and billing requirement clarifications.  She also implemented a Vivage County Medicaid Outreach On-site Technician which resulted in a 50% reduction of Medicaid Pending A/R.  In 2012, she was a co-presenter of IDT Medicare Processes at the national NTT Data Conference.  Tracy facilitates training sessions for Vivage Operations, Business Offices, and Medicare Boot Camps.


KENDRA COCO, MPT, NHA, RAC-CT
Director of Clinical Reimbursement

Kendra joined Vivage Quality Health Partners as a Rehab Services Consultant, Operational Resource Team member and the Director of Clinical Reimbursement in 2014.   She brings 30 years of healthcare experience, including Durable Medical Equipment Billing and Delivery Technician, Medical Transcriptionist, Rehabilitation Aide, Physical Therapist, Rehabilitation Manager, Nursing Home Administrator, Regional Rehabilitation Director and Consultant for Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Home Health, and Outpatient therapy.  Kendra provides a clinical operational focus as she utilizes her experiences as a Physical Therapist and Nursing Home Administrator to empower our teams through educational and innovative growth opportunities.  Through Kendra’s passion for promoting leadership and accountability she has presented on several topics such as Medicare Boot Camp, Medicaid Reimbursement and Case Mix, RAI/MDS training for the Interdisciplinary Team, Restorative Nursing Development and Countdown to ICD 10.   She has been a Guest Presenter at PIMA Medical Institute and served as an Advisory Board Member for two local Physical Therapy Assistant Programs.   Kendra is also certified as a Resident Assessment Coordinator with the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination.



DAVE KOLBET
Director of Accounting

Dave Kolbet brings 15 years of financial experience to Vivage.  As Director of Accounting, Dave leads the finance team with monthly reporting on the financial statements, annual budgeting, and regulatory and compliance reporting for accounting and finance issues.  His previous experience as an accounting professional includes eight busy seasons of experience in public accounting and seven years in private industry, including SEC reporting, financial statement preparation, presentation to boards/oversight committees, treasury management, and forecasting/budgeting on a micro and macro level.  He is well versed in both US GAAP and IFRS, as well as providing technical memorandums when appropriate.  Dave is a CPA in both Colorado and Washington.

 

EVY CUGELMAN, RN, BA
Innovation Specialist

Evy brings extensive knowledge in gerontology, person centered care, dementia and complementary therapies to her role as Innovation Specialist.  Evy serves as consultant and educator and holds educator certificates for the Eden Alternative® including Eden Associate Training, Dementia Beyond Drugs and Leadership Training; The Green House Project®; Second Wind Virtual Dementia Tour; The Validation Method and Therapeutic Touch.  Past roles include Long Term Care Manager for Victorian Order of Nurses, Simcoe County Branch which included 3 adult day programs and Alzheimer Respite Program. As Education Coordinator for Simcoe County Alzheimer Association, Evy taught all aspects of dementia and care-giving issues throughout Canada.  Evy is co-author of the Vivage Neighborhood Guide Program, a yearlong training to develop self-directed work teams, and co-author of a Complementary Therapies Curriculum for long term care.  Evy joined Piñon Management in 2000 as a Quality Improvement Nurse, served as leader on the Culture Change Team, and as part of the Life Enhancement (now Innovation Team). Evy Represents Vivage on the Eden Alternative Educator Leadership Team and the Dementia Action Alliance.

 

HEATHER TERHARK
Director of Sales & Marketing

With over 20 years of diverse healthcare experience, Heather provides sales, marketing and census development oversight and guidance to Vivage communities and Bridges Community Homecare.  Heather leads a dynamic team of Clinical Liaisons and oversees the day to day patient/resident admissions process and daily census outcomes for all Vivage communities. Heather brings experience from a variety of roles including Marketing Director for a group of assisted living communities in California and Regional Marketing Director for skilled nursing facilities in Missouri, Louisiana, Florida and Texas. In addition, Heather practiced as a licensed Assisted Living Executive Director before joining Vivage. Heather has experience in home care, having developed Medicare and private duty programs as well as performing geriatric case management. Heather obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Healthcare Administration from Frederick Taylor University after attending Missouri State University, where she studied Recreation Leisure Studies with an emphasis on wellness.

 

MICHELLE WILSON
Corporate Support Manager

Michelle Wilson brings 15 years of administrative experience to Vivage Senior Living, following prior work with large corporations.  As the Corporate Support Manager, Michelle coordinates all internal and external support needs, using her strong skill set in technology and systems organization. Michelle and her staff serve as great resources and support to over 120 corporate staff members.  Michelle has established detail-driven executive support utilizing systems such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google for Work applications in administration work, meetings coordination, and overall office management.  Her organizational skills and excellent ability to anticipate the needs of others have allowed her to contribute greatly to the critical success factors of everyone in the organization.   Michelle has provided excellent Project Management for Vivage in many areas including corporate event coordination, office space redesign, and document management to cloud technology. Michelle daily manages the overlapping and multi-layered needs of in-house staff and external clients, providing a high level of customer service in her role. 

 

JENNY NOBLE, RN
Director of Clinical Operations

Jenny serves as a key leader and clinical consultant in her role in Quality Improvement. Jenny has been instrumental in clinical leadership implementation of Vivage’s Point Click Care EHR and the corporate-wide INTERACT program to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations. Jenny serves on special projects most recently including national consulting to ICF/MR and assisted living communities for quality reviews. Jenny provides clinical oversight and systems development support to Vivage facilities. She serves as a key clinical educator and clinical system auditor for Vivage and coordinates educational training and QAPI support for Directors of Nursing and Staff Development Coordinators on various topics. Jenny has been a Registered Nurse in long-term care since 1996, working as a Regional Nurse, Director of Nursing and Charge Nurse for recognized companies including Piñon Management, Life Care Centers of America and Christian Living Communities before coming to Vivage in 2011. Jenny has NADONA and Eden Alternative certifications, and is a Dementia Capable Care Coordinator and trainer.

 

KRISTINE SHEPHERD
Corporate Controller

Kristine Shepherd joined Vivage as Corporate Controller July 2015, where she is responsible for Financial Statements, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other corporate financial duties.  Kristine serves as financial manager of Vivage corporate reporting and works closely with Vivage ownership on financial reviews. She started with Vivage in November 2014 as an Accounting/Reimbursement Manager and quickly was recognized for outstanding financial skills and oversight capability.  Kristine brings over 15 years of experience, and previously worked in the higher education and casino industries.  Kristine offers a strong fiscal background with certain tax areas and internal auditing, along with financial statements and month-end activities.  Kristine holds a Bachelor’s of Accounting and a Master’s of Business Administration.

 

MICHAEL CLANTON
Director of Information Technology

Michael joined Vivage as IT Director, spring 2015, after 13 years at The Denver Hospice.  Michael’s work at The Denver Hospice advanced him to Technical Support Manager responsible for aiding 350+ staff members and numerous volunteers.  Michael has over 20 years of experience in information systems support, and over 14 years supporting clinical organizations. Michael currently oversees Vivage IT operations for 25 skilled nursing facilities, 2 Assisted Living Residences, Vivage corporate offices, and 3 ancillary businesses, as well as providing the technical oversight for eight new construction projects in the Senior Living division. Michael brings strong negotiation skills and is in the process of implementing a centralized voice over IP telephony system. Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems and Management Science from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Michael has taught capstone classes in information systems for Arapahoe Community College. Prior to moving into information systems, Michael obtained a degree in Advertising Design from the Colorado Institute of Art, and worked in the advertising and public relations industry and in education for the cable television industry.
